Introduction:

P-Aminophenol sulfate is an organic compound that belongs to the class of phenols. It possesses a slightly acidic nature due to its phenolic hydroxyl group and forms salts with alkali metals and ammonia and acid addition salts with mineral acids such as HCl. 

It is a colorless crystalline solid with a soapy feel and an odor of phenols. It has a density of 1.11 g/cm3, is easily soluble in water, ethanol, ether, and acetone, moderately soluble in benzene and carbon tetrachloride, and sparingly soluble in vegetable oils. 

It has many uses in medicine and antiseptic purposes. It can be used as an analgesic and antipyretic agent, while its sulfates are used for their antiseptic properties. 

Applications:

P-aminophenol sulfate is a potent antioxidant and also an aminophenolate esterase inhibitor. It has been used medicinally for years to treat the lungs or chest problems that cause excessive bronchial secretions or inflammation of the air passages.
