Sets the fruity top note
A fruity, pineapple-like character at low dosage, so a small amount carries the profile of the finished flavor.
Ethyl butyrate is one of the most widely used fruity flavor esters, giving the juicy pineapple and tutti-frutti note in juices, candy, chewing gum, beverages, liquor and tobacco flavors. SUNCHEM supplies ethyl butyrate to flavor houses and food manufacturers with a batch COA on every shipment.
Ethyl butyrate (ethyl butanoate) is the ester of butyric acid and ethanol. It has a strong, sweet, pineapple-like odor and is used at low levels to lift the fruity top note in orange, pineapple, strawberry and tropical flavors. It is also used in liquor and tobacco flavors and in fragrances.
For flavor buyers, purity and odor match decide whether a new source can replace the current one; acid value shows whether the ester has started to hydrolyze.
