Two reactive handles
Suzuki coupling through boron, then further chemistry through the aldehyde.
4-Formylphenylboronic acid (4-FPBA) is an aryl boronic acid with an aldehyde group, used as a building block for pharmaceuticals and electronic materials. SUNCHEM supplies 4-formylphenylboronic acid in 25 kg drums with a batch COA on every shipment.
4-Formylphenylboronic acid carries two handles: the boronic acid couples to aryl halides in Suzuki–Miyaura reactions, and the aldehyde can then be reduced, oxidized, aminated or condensed. That makes it a common building block for biaryl pharmaceutical intermediates and for electronic materials such as OLED and liquid-crystal compounds.
Like other boronic acids, it can contain varying amounts of its cyclic anhydride (boroxine). The TDS states how assay is measured; agree the method before comparing offers.

Used for biaryl drug intermediates and for OLED and liquid-crystal materials.
We quote against your assay method, impurity and moisture limits and send the batch COA for each lot.

| Your requirement | What usually works |
|---|---|
| Pharmaceutical synthesis | Specify assay method and related-substance limits |
| Electronic materials | Specify purity and metal-ion limits |
| Process development | Start with a sample lot and lock the spec after your trial |
| Replacing an existing supplier | Send your current TDS or COA; we quote against the parameters you approve |
25 kg drums; smaller packs for evaluation on request.
Keep containers closed in a cool, dry place under inert gas if possible; the aldehyde slowly oxidizes in air.
Pharma or electronics: purity and metal limits follow from it.
Assay (HPLC or titration), anhydride content, moisture and the related substances that affect your coupling.
Store cool, dry and closed; the aldehyde oxidizes to the carboxylic acid over time.
Run a sample in your own process and keep the approved lot COA as the reference for contract limits.
Tell us the reaction or product you use it in, the quantity and the destination port. Add your current specification and we will quote against it.
