Applications
N-methylimidazole is an important raw material for the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates, used in the preparation of losartan, nitrofenone, 1-methylimidazole-5-carbonyl chloride hydrochloride and naphthylmethylimidazole hydrochloride, etc.; in the field of pesticides, it is widely used in the synthesis of bactericides and plant growth promoters; N-methylimidazole is used as a cationic parent to quaternary ammonium reaction to synthesise imidazole ionic liquids; in addition N-methylimidazole is used in the curing agent of other resins such as epoxy resin and adhesive, etc; N-methylimidazole is also widely used in the field of casting and glass reinforced plastic.
