Металлиловый спирт (2-methyl-2-propen-1-ol) is an unsaturated primary alcohol. Its largest use is ethoxylation to methallyl polyoxyethylene ether (HPEG), the macromonomer for polycarboxylate superplasticizers in concrete. It is also an intermediate for fragrance and pharmaceutical chemicals, for methallyl esters and ethers, and for specialty resins.
