It is a diamine derivative made of ammonia and m-phenylenediamine.

It's produced by the reaction of these two compounds in liquid ammonia, sulfuric acid, or hydrochloric acid. Also known by its common name, m-phenylenediamine, it is a white crystalline solid.

The chemical is an aromatic diamine derivative. It has been used as a reducing agent in organic synthesis.

Applications:

M-Phenylene diamine HCl is a commonly used compound in the polymer industry and is a precursor in m-phenylenediamine(m-DPA) production.
