Low boiling point
Evaporates at about 35 °C, so it is easy to remove after extraction or reaction.
Diethyl ether is a low-boiling solvent used for extraction, as a reaction solvent in pharmaceutical synthesis, and as a raw material for detergents and other chemicals. SUNCHEM supplies diethyl ether at ≥ 99.5% (GC) purity with a batch COA on every shipment.
Diethyl ether (ethoxyethane) boils at about 35 °C and dissolves fats, oils, waxes and many organic compounds, so it is used for extraction and as a reaction solvent — for Grignard reactions in particular — in pharmaceutical and fine-chemical plants. It is also used as a solvent in medicine production and as a raw material for detergents.
Diethyl ether is extremely flammable, forms explosive peroxides on storage, and is a controlled precursor chemical under the UN 1988 Convention, so export and import need permits in China and in many destination countries. Tell us your end use and licence status when you inquire.

≥ 99.5% (GC) with water ≤ 0.05% (KF) suits moisture-sensitive reactions.
We quote against your purity, water and peroxide limits and send the batch COA for each lot.

Peroxide, residue on evaporation, ethanol and stabilizer limits depend on the producer grade and are stated on the TDS and batch COA; the limits for your order are confirmed in the quotation and contract.
Where diethyl ether is used, and what to confirm before you switch supply.
A reaction solvent for Grignard and other moisture-sensitive reactions, and for crystallization and washing.
Extracts fats, oils, waxes, alkaloids and natural products, and is removed easily afterwards.
Used as a raw material for detergents and other chemical products.
| Your requirement | What usually works |
|---|---|
| Grignard and moisture-sensitive reactions | Dry grade: water ≤ 0.05% (KF) |
| Long storage or repeated opening | Ask for a stabilized grade (e.g. with BHT) |
| Extraction | Specify residue on evaporation |
| Replacing an existing supplier | Send your current TDS or COA; we quote against the parameters you approve |
Tell us the drum size you need; packaging must be UN-approved for Class 3, PG I.
Store in closed containers, cool and away from light and ignition sources. Ether forms explosive peroxides — date opened containers and test for peroxides before distilling.
Highly flammable liquid (UN 1155, Class 3, PG I). Shipped under our precursor-chemical export licence.
Synthesis, extraction or raw material, and the end-user — permits depend on it.
Purity (GC), water (KF), peroxide and residue on evaporation.
We hold the export licence. Confirm whether your country needs an import permit and send it with your order; this sets the lead time.
Run a sample in your own process and keep the approved lot COA as the reference for contract limits.
Tell us your end use and whether you hold an import permit, the quantity and the destination port. Add your current specification and we will quote against it.

As a solvent for extraction and pharmaceutical synthesis (especially Grignard reactions), and as a raw material for detergents and other chemicals.
The grade on this page is ≥ 99.5% (GC) with water ≤ 0.05% (KF); the batch COA gives the actual values.
Yes. It is a precursor chemical under the UN 1988 Convention. SUNCHEM holds the export licence; many destination countries also require an import permit.
Yes. It is a highly flammable liquid regulated under UN 1155, Class 3, PG I.
