Introduction:

Acid Violet 43 is a synthetic anthraquinone used as a dye, especially in paints and surface coatings. It has the appearance of violet crystals with an odor of bitter almonds.

ACID VIOLET 43 is a colorless liquid with a pungent smell. Acid Violet 43 is a member of the azo dyes, a class of organic compounds that contain a triarylmethane nucleus. A triarylmethane nucleus consists of a triphenylmethane moiety, a benzene ring fused to a phenyl group.

ACID VIOLET 43 is a synthetic chemical compound. ACID VIOLET 43 is not found naturally in the environment. At high levels of exposure, ACID VIOLET 43 can be harmful to the respiratory system and kidneys. It is produced by chemical reactions that convert compounds from amino acids, acetylsalicylic acid, and nitrous oxide.

Applications:

Acid Violet 43 is a triarylmethane dye used as a violet pigment. It is used in the production of violet pigments, dye reagents, and chemical intermediates. In the textile industry, it is used as a fabric dye for cotton and linen.

In the dyeing of wool, Acid Violet 43 is only used for black. It is used as a violet pigment for printing on cellulose acetate, nylon, and polycarbonate in the printing industry.

In producing high-quality photographic prints, it is used as a coupler in a process called dye transfer. Acid Violet 43 is also used as a photographic stain to visualize proteins on gel electrophoresis, as a fluorescent stain for Gram-negative bacteria, as a visualization reagent for live cells, as a fluorescent label for antibodies, as a counterstain for electron microscopy and as a mitochondrion staining reagent.

It is also used as a local anesthetic in dentistry.
