HALS 123 (Bis(1-octyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate) carries an alkoxy group on the hindered nitrogen, which makes it essentially non-basic. It does not interfere with acid catalysts or acidic components, so it is used in acid-cure automotive and industrial coatings, often with a UV absorber.

Keep containers closed, away from heat and direct sun. Warm gently and mix before use if the liquid has thickened in cold weather. See the SDS.

Pick molecular weight for the part
Low-MW HALS move to the surface quickly and suit thick parts; polymeric HALS resist loss from thin films and fibers. Many outdoor packages blend both.
Check interactions
HALS are basic and can interact with acidic additives, halogenated flame retardants, some pigments and sulfur-containing antioxidants. Send your full formulation so we can flag conflicts before the trial.
