How to Select a Reliable Antioxidant Supplier from China

Home | Topics

Step 1: Define Your Technical Requirements

  • Purity specification (e.g., ≥99.0%)
  • Key physical parameters: melting point, color, acid value, moisture
  • Regulatory compliance required: FDA, EU 10/2011, REACH, RoHS
  • Required documentation: COA, SDS, TDS, REACH SVHC declaration

Step 2: Evaluate Quality Systems

A complete COA should include: product name, CAS number, batch number, test date, all parameter results, and method references. COAs without batch numbers or test dates are a red flag.

Request an SDS in your country's format (GHS). Verify the ISO 9001 certification status of the manufacturer.

Step 3: Assess Regulatory Compliance

  • REACH (EU): Verify registration for substances >1 tonne/year import
  • FDA (USA): Request 21 CFR compliance letter for food-contact applications
  • RoHS/SVHC: Request SVHC declaration under REACH Article 33

Step 4: Evaluate Export Capability

  • Experience exporting to your target country
  • Correct HS code classification
  • Availability of all export documents: invoice, packing list, B/L, COO
  • Flexibility on Incoterms (FOB, CIF, DDP, DAP)

Common Red Flags

  • Cannot provide batch-specific COA on request
  • All COA results are suspiciously identical across batches
  • No SDS available, or SDS copied from a different product
  • Unable to name which manufacturer produces the material
  • Price significantly below market level
  • Unwilling to provide samples before a commercial order
