Halogen-free for polyamides
Gives unreinforced PA6 and PA66 UL 94 V-0 without halogens.
Melamine cyanurate (MC) is a halogen-free nitrogen flame retardant for unreinforced PA6 and PA66, TPU and other polymers. SUNCHEM supplies melamine cyanurate with a batch COA on every shipment; the TDS is sent on request.
Melamine cyanurate is a salt of melamine and cyanuric acid. Above about 320 °C it decomposes endothermically, releasing inert nitrogen gases that dilute the flame and helping the melt drip away from the flame. That makes it the standard halogen-free flame retardant for unreinforced PA6 and PA66 reaching UL 94 V-0, and it is also used in TPU, epoxy and other polymers.
Fine, uniform particle size matters for mechanical properties and surface finish; purity and whiteness matter for light colors.
Gives unreinforced PA6 and PA66 UL 94 V-0 without halogens.
White powder with low smoke and no corrosive gas.
We quote against your purity, particle size, moisture and whiteness and send the batch COA for each lot.

Purity, particle size, moisture and whiteness limits depend on the producer grade and are stated on the TDS and batch COA; the limits for your order are confirmed in the quotation and contract.
Where MC is used, and what to confirm before you switch supply.
The standard halogen-free flame retardant for unreinforced PA6 and PA66 connectors and electrical parts.
Used in TPU for cable jackets and films.
Used in epoxy, intumescent coatings and other polymers, often with phosphorus flame retardants.
| Your requirement | What usually works |
|---|---|
| Unreinforced PA6 / PA66 | Standard MC with fine particle size |
| TPU and thin films | Specify finer particle size |
| Glass-filled polyamides | Ask: MC alone is usually not enough; phosphorus systems are used |
| Replacing an existing supplier | Send your current TDS or COA; we quote against the parameters you approve |
Tell us the bag or drum size and pallet requirements you need; we confirm the packaging with the quotation.
Keep bags closed in a dry store.
Name the polymer and the fire rating you must meet — UL 94 class and thickness, LOI or cable standard.
Purity, particle size (D50 and D98), moisture and whiteness.
Particle size and dispersion decide impact strength; compare mechanical results, not only the fire test.
Compound a trial batch, run your fire and mechanical tests, and keep the approved lot COA as the reference.
Tell us the polymer, the fire rating you need, the quantity and the destination port. Add your current specification and we will quote against it.

As a halogen-free flame retardant for unreinforced PA6 and PA66, TPU, epoxy and other polymers.
Usually not on its own; glass-filled polyamides normally use phosphorus-based systems.
Purity, particle size, moisture and whiteness.
Yes. Send an inquiry with your polymer and target rating and we email the TDS.
