Introduction:

Etofenprox is a broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide which acts against mites and ticks. It is produced synthetically by reacting 2,5-dimethoxyphenol with methylamine.

It has shown good activity against several species of sucking lice, fleas and ticks. It has multiple properties such as increased photosynthesis, increased vigour of plants, enhanced resistance to various diseases and pests, and improved quality and yield of agricultural products.

It is a phenylpyrazole derivative. Its chemical structure is different from that of other chemical substances that are used for controlling pests.

It is commonly synthesized in the laboratory. The process involves substituting the methyl group with a propyl group in the isoxazole ring of pyrethrins and substituting the methyl group with a propyl group in the isoxazole ring pyrethrins results in a new chemical compound.

Applications:

Etofenprox is a kind of equipment used in pest control. It can use it to kill cockroaches, mosquitoes, and other pests that may harm people or cause property damage.

It is widely used in agriculture and plant protection. It has also been named as an acaricide since it is effective against ticks. It is used to protect stored grain products against moths and weevils.
