UV Absorber 326: Applications, Specifications and Supplier Guide
Maison | Les sujets |
Chemical Properties
- CAS: 3896-11-5 | MW: 323.4 g/mole | MP: 137–141°C
- UV absorption maximum: ~340 nm
- Apparence: Light yellow to yellow powder or granules
- Commercial equivalents: Tinuvin 326 (BASF), Chisorb 326
How It Works
UV Absorber 326 absorbs UV radiation (280–380 nm) and converts it to harmless heat via intramolecular proton transfer. The compound then returns to its ground state ready to absorb again — effectively a catalytic UV filter.
Applications
- PP/PE: Automotive, agricultural film, packaging with UV exposure
- ABS/HIPS: Electronics housings, outdoor furniture, garden products
- Rigid PVC: Window profiles, pipe fittings, cladding
- Revêtements: Solvent-borne and water-borne industrial topcoats, encres d'imprimerie
- Caoutchouc: EPDM, SBR, natural rubber outdoor applications
UV 326 vs UV 327 vs UV 328
- UV 326 (MW 323): Cost-effective, broad polymer compatibility
- UV 327 (MW 358): Higher MW, une volatilité plus faible, similar applications
- UV 328 (MW 351): Different substitution, favoured in coatings and engineering polymers
Typical Usage Levels
- Polyolefins: 0.1–0.5% | ABS/PVC: 0.2–0.5% | Revêtements: 0.5–2.0%
- Combine with HALS at 1:1 à 1:2 ratio for outdoor applications
