Mild, foam-boosting co-surfactant
Increases foam and reduces the irritation of anionic surfactants.
Cocamidopropylbétaïne (CAPB) is a mild amphoteric surfactant used in shampoos, lavages du corps, hand soaps and household cleaners to boost foam, build viscosity and reduce irritation. SUNCHEM supplies CAPB mainly as the 35% active grade (CAB-35), a light-yellow liquid shipped in IBC totes, with a batch COA on every shipment.
CAPB is made from coconut fatty acids, dimethylaminopropylamine and sodium chloroacetate. It is compatible with anionic, cationic and nonionic surfactants; combined with anionics such as SLES it increases foam, thickens the formula with salt, and makes the product milder on skin and eyes. It is used in shampoos, lavages du corps, nettoyants pour le visage, hand soaps, dishwashing liquids and household cleaners.
CAPB is supplied as an aqueous solution, so active matter — not “assay” — is the number to compare. Our main grade is CAB-35, avec environ 35% active matter.
Increases foam and reduces the irritation of anionic surfactants.
Thickens SLES-based formulas with salt, reducing the need for other thickeners.
We quote against your active matter, NaCl, free amine and color and send the batch COA for each lot.
