What Is DSTDP?

DSTDP (Tiodipropionato de diestearilo, CAS 693-36-7) is a sulfur-based secondary antioxidant used extensively in polyolefin plastics to extend thermal stability and service life. It is one of the most widely specified thioester antioxidants globally.

How DSTDP Works

The sulfur atom in the thioether linkage acts as a hydroperoxide decomposer. During polymer processing, hydroperoxides form as intermediates in the oxidative degradation chain. DSTDP reduces these to stable alcohols, breaking the chain before further degradation occurs.
