HALS 119 has a molecular weight of about 2286, so it does not evaporate during processing or migrate out in use. It is used in PP tape, fiber and film and in other polyolefin articles that need long outdoor life, and it also contributes long-term thermal stability.

Low-MW HALS move to the surface quickly and suit thick parts; polymeric HALS resist loss from thin films and fibers. Many outdoor packages blend both.

HALS are basic and can interact with acidic additives, halogenated flame retardants, some pigments and sulfur-containing antioxidants. Send your full formulation so we can flag conflicts before the trial.
