Introduction:

Isoprothiolane 95%TC is the common name for 2,6-diisopropylphenol that has chemical properties similar to sulfur-containing compounds.

It is considered to be aromatic alcohol and comes in liquid form with a minty scent.Isoprothiolane 95%TC has two components: aluminum brass and rubber acetate stearate combined with sulfuric acid, which produces2 methylthiopropanol (MTPM).

The chemical reaction that occurs during the product production produces hydrogen sulfide gas, carbon dioxide gas, acetic acid, butadiene monoxide (BDMO), ketone compounds (including MTPM), sulfur dioxide gas, water vapor, ammonia gas and other chemicals.

When two aliphatic hydrocarbons are mixed with isoprothiolane, four major byproducts are created in abundance: methylbenzene (CH3C6H4), ethylbenzene (C 2 H 5 C 6 H 4), carbonic oxide (CO) and carbon monoxide gas(CO). 

Applications:

There are several different applications for Isoprothiolane 95%TC. It can be used as a pain suppressant, has been positively identified in insecticides, and synthesizes other chemicals such as pesticides and pharmaceuticals.

Studies have identified that this chemical also has potential use in preventing or reducing oxalate crystallization in the treatment of kidney stones because it slows down the rate at which these crystals accumulate.

This makes it a valuable tool for preserving organs before transplantation to prevent damage by oxalates since they can form inside an organ while still attached to the organ donor's body. It is also used as a reagent to produce 2-aminothiopropionic acid, a useful chemical intermediate.
