CMIT/MIT (2-Methyl-4-Isothiazoline-3-Ketone ) is used as a preservative in cosmetics, as a biocide in household products, as a germicidal agent in medicines, as a fungicide in agriculture and as a microbicide in some types of paints and polymers.
