Introduction:

Amino Trimethylene Phosphonic Acid (ATMP) is a white amorphous powder. It is a low viscosity, non-toxic and non-flammable liquid with high biocidal efficiency and relatively low cost.

ATMP is easy to be hydrolyzed in water and can replace some toxic phosphates. Amino trimethylene phosphonic acid (ATMP) is an organophosphate derivative of phosphonic acid, used as a flame retardant in many plastics and other products.

It is produced by the reaction of phosphorous pentoxide with formaldehyde and ammonia in an aqueous solution. It can dissolve in water and most organic solvents. ATMP is soluble in water and acts as an acidity regulator in many industries.

Applications:

Applications of ATMP include flame retardants, additives in the plastic industry, corrosion inhibitors, and wastewater treatment.

In the fire, it both suppresses the combustion and acts as a water repellent, inhibiting water flow from the atmosphere to the fuel source.
