Melamine cyanurate is a salt of melamine and cyanuric acid. Above about 320 °C it decomposes endothermically, releasing inert nitrogen gases that dilute the flame and helping the melt drip away from the flame. That makes it the standard halogen-free flame retardant for unreinforced PA6 and PA66 reaching UL 94 다섯-0, and it is also used in TPU, epoxy and other polymers.
Fine, uniform particle size matters for mechanical properties and surface finish; purity and whiteness matter for light colors.
