아세토 페논 (methyl phenyl ketone) is the simplest aromatic ketone. It has a sweet, orange-blossom and almond-like odor, so it is used in fragrances for soap, detergents and cosmetics, and as a starting material for fragrance chemicals. It is an intermediate for pharmaceuticals and other fine chemicals, a solvent for cellulose ethers and resins, a plasticizer, and a raw material for acetophenone–formaldehyde resins.
It melts at about 20 ℃, so in cool weather it may solidify in the drum — warm gently before use.
