Pentabromodiphenyl Ether

The PBDPO (ペンタブロモジフェニルオキシド ) is a brominated derivative of the diphenyl ether compounds. It is soluble in oil but only slightly soluble in water. It has a molar mass of 603.87 グラム/モル. Without these chains, combustion cannot occur, and it can be used to reduce flammability, smoke and toxicity of the burning material.

It is also known for its usage in the production of high-density polyethylene or HDPE. It can be added to molten polyethylene to create a high-density plastic, which can be used for disposable bottles, toys and cooking utensils.
