Meropenem Trihydrate

Meropenem is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic of the carbapenem class. It is active against Gram-positive and certain Gram-negative bacteria.

In Belgium, it was developed by Janssen Pharmaceutica and is sold by Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) in the US, Canada, 西ヨーロッパ, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand under the trade name Merrem.

It is a bactericidal drug belonging to the carbapenems group (a new generation of broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotics). Carbapenems are the most advanced class of antibiotics and are used to treat hospital-acquired bacterial infections.

They can defeat bacteria that have become resistant to other antibiotics. It appears as a white or slightly yellow powder.
