Biapenem

Biapenem is a carbapenem antibiotic with a double beta-lactam ring. The fermentation process of Bacillus licheniformis produces it, and its component is biapenem.

Biapenem is used to treat severe, life-threatening infections due to certain bacteria. Biapenem works by fighting bacteria in your body and will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. Biapenem is effective in fighting resistant bacteria, which was not possible with conventional antibiotics.

Biapenem may be used for bacterial infections, which are resistant to most other antibiotics. It is also effective against organisms that produce penicillinase.

It is used to treat infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Escherichia coli. It can use it in combination with cilastatin.

Biapenem is the first antibiotic drug, which is based on the backbone of carbapenem antibiotics.

Biapenem is used to treat different types of infections, including lung infections, pneumonia, bone infections, surgical site infections, catheter-associated urinary tract infections, complicated skin and skin structure infections, septicemia etc.

It is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible species of the following microorganisms: Respiratory tract infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae (including penicillin-susceptible strains), other streptococci.

If taken as prescribed, biapenem will not harm the body. Biapenem is used to treat bacterial infections of the lower respiratory tract, 肌, bone, blood, heart valves, brain, and kidneys.
